Paris Jackson is asking a Los Angeles judge to order $600 million US from Michael Jackson’s estate transferred to a family trust for her and her brothers. The estate disputes her claims, citing unresolved legal matters. A judge is scheduled to hear the petition and a separate challenge on Dec. 4.

A tale as old as time, a tune as old as song: An early fan favourite was eliminated Monday on a Disney-themed episode of Dancing with the Stars. Guest-judged by Cynthia Erivo, the night featured numbers inspired by Beauty and the Beast, Hamilton, The Little Mermaid, Tangled and Hercules.

The BBC is still directing viewers towards an older episode featuring David Walliams, despite the comedian facing professional fallout following reports about allegations concerning his conduct.

The BBC is continuing to make an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? featuring David Walliams available to viewers, despite the actor, comedian and children’s author having been dropped by his television agent and publisher.

Viewers looking for tonight’s episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, featuring Ruth Jones, are also presented with the option to watch a previous instalment featuring Walliams, originally broadcast in 2022.

The listing comes amid the ongoing fallout from allegations released in December 2025, when The Daily Telegraph reported that Walliams had been the subject of an internal investigation the previous year concerning his alleged behaviour towards junior female employees at publisher HarperCollins.

The newspaper reported allegations of harassment involving young female staff, including a claim that one employee received a “five-figure payoff” after raising concerns. Former HarperCollins employees were also reported to have alleged that staff were instructed to work with Walliams in “pairs” and advised against visiting his home.

The allegations have had significant professional consequences for Walliams, although he has strenuously denied wrongdoing.

BBC says it has no future projects involving Walliams

Following the reports, the BBC confirmed that it would not pursue new projects directly involving Walliams, while indicating that existing programmes would not automatically be removed from its schedules.

A BBC spokesperson said in December 2025: “While we’re not making any changes to the festive schedules, we have no future projects directly involving David Walliams.”

The broadcaster’s position means that older programmes featuring Walliams may remain available even as it rules out future projects with him. His previous television work includes adaptations of his children’s books, such as Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy.

The continued promotion of his Who Do You Think You Are? episode highlights the distinction between the BBC’s decision not to commission new projects directly involving Walliams and its treatment of existing archive programming.

HarperCollins drops David Walliams’ children’s books

The publishing fallout has also extended beyond new releases.

HarperCollins announced in December 2025 that it would no longer publish new titles by Walliams. In September 2026, reports emerged that the publisher was also dropping his existing children’s book back catalogue, with physical stock, e-books and audiobooks being phased out.

The decision affects a substantial body of work. Walliams has written more than 40 books, and his children’s titles have sold millions of copies internationally. His best-known works include The Boy in the Dress, Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny.

HarperCollins said it takes employee wellbeing seriously but declined to discuss internal matters. Walliams’ spokesperson said he had not been informed of the allegations or given an opportunity to respond to an investigation, and that he strongly denied behaving inappropriately. The BBC reported those statements when the publisher’s decision was announced in December 2025.

Previous controversy surrounding Britain’s Got Talent

Walliams’ departure from Britain’s Got Talent in 2022 followed the publication of a transcript containing offensive remarks he made about contestants during filming breaks.

He apologised for the comments, describing them as disrespectful. He subsequently brought legal proceedings against production company Fremantle over the leak of his private conversations.

In November 2023, the parties reached an “amicable resolution”, with Fremantle apologising for the publication of the remarks and the distress caused to Walliams. The settlement concerned the dispute over the leaked conversations and was separate from the allegations subsequently reported in connection with HarperCollins.

Walliams has strenuously denied wrongdoing in relation to the allegations about his conduct towards publisher employees.

The BBC’s continued promotion of his older Who Do You Think You Are? episode comes against this wider background, while the broadcaster maintains that it has no future projects directly involving him.

Ever wonder what a day in the life at “The Daily Show” looks like?

In a new behind-the-scenes video, Jon Stewart and co. prepare to host the Comedy Central satirical news series, starting with a 9:30 a.m. morning meeting. Since the anchors rotate, Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic show up to the writers’ room on separate days. They gather with the team to plan the night’s episode — there’s a whiteboard split into four “acts” and a screen with the script. The writers cycle through Fox News segments and clips from Trump rallies for inspiration.

About two hours later, the team meets in the “fishbowl” for script assembly, where they work with the hosts on specific jokes. Then, after lunch, the hosts do “guest prep,” as Ronny Chieng is shown brainstorming questions for Taika Waititi with staffers.

At 2:30 p.m., the hosts man the desk in front of an empty studio audience for rehearsal. In one section of the video, Stewart works out a bit with a prop phone, suggesting to producers how to frame the segment. Writers and producers gather around the desk to make quick changes. After the test run, the staff heads back into an office for a rewrite. Johnson is seen rehearsing dialogue in his suit as he moves lines around.

At 5:15 p.m. is wardrobe, which is when the hosts — and field correspondents Troy Iwata and Grace Kuhlenschmidt — get fitted for showtime. And just before 6 is when the guests arrive. In the video, Johnson greets Colin Kaepernick and is taken aback when the former NFL star says he is a “big fan” of the comedian.

Moments before 6 p.m., the talent gathers in the mini kitchen for last minute snacks and high-fives. And at 6, the host walks onto the soundstage to greet the studio audience, where they often tell quick stories and take questions from fans. And the rest is television magic.

Stewart returns to the “Daily Show” desk on Monday, Nov. 2, with guest Michael Lewis. Chieng hosts Tuesday and will interview Min Jin Lee, Kosta hosts Wednesday with Erica Chenoweth and Klepper hosts Thursday with Grandmaster Flash.

Like any athlete, Ezra Frech is in it to win it on Dancing With the Stars. And there’s a real chance he could be the celebrity walking away with the mirrorball on the show’s Nov. 24 finale.

Frech doesn’t want to look too far ahead, though. “You can’t think too far ahead on a show like Dancing With the Stars. Anything could happen at any week,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The Paralympic gold medalist has consistently scored well on the competition dance series, and is an even bigger hit with fans online. He has particularly inspired a younger generation of viewers, many who seem themselves represented in Frech’s journey as an amputee.

“Our grounding, stabilizing force is the love and support that we receive from the fans,” he says, adding that his “motivation” for doing the show was to represent the disabled community and “all people with disabilities.”

Many athletes have competed on DWTS, and the track and field star is not left lonesome this year, as he’s also dancing against fellow Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn.

Their castings as the sole athletes on this season of the show was further winked at with the professional dancers they’re partnered with; Frech dances with Daniella Karagach, and Amber is with Pasha Pashkov, the two of whom are married.

“This journey feels like we’re on the same team together,” Frech says of navigating season 35 with Karagach, Glenn and Pashkov. “Amber and I are teammates in this.”

When asked about how fans believe the season 35 Len Goodman mirrorball trophy may end up in the Pashkov-Karagach household, Frech still doesn’t want to look too far ahead in the competition, but admits it “would be really special” if they all made it to finale night.

Below, Frech opens up about why he felt “called” to partake in season 35 of DWTS; the Hunger Games fan theory he saw fans say he and Glenn should implement so they can “split the trophy”; what being the first amputee to win DWTS would mean; and working with Karagach.

Tell me a little bit about your knowledge of Dancing With the Stars prior and how the opportunity came about for you.

I’ve watched Dancing With the Stars for a long time. I have had friends who have been on the show. There’s been a lot of amazing disability representation on Dancing With the Stars. Amy Purdy, Daniel Durant, Noah Galloway: They’ve done a fantastic job of making people with disabilities feel seen through dance. It’s always been something that was in the back of my mind as a dream. Then in more recent years, it looked like it could potentially become a reality, and then it ended up working out really well this year.

[Season 35] falls perfectly in my off season. From a track and field standpoint, my season ends, and I have three months of an off season, and it happened to fall right in the Dancing With the Stars season. It just felt like the perfect timing. It felt like the perfect moment, and sometimes you can’t explain it, but you feel called to things, and I felt very called to to do this.

Are you doing any training right now for track and field, or are you fully focused on Dancing With the Stars?

I am weightlifting a little bit, but honestly, I had a mentor [Heinrich Popow] who was on the German version of Dancing With the Stars. He was an amputee and was also a former gold medalist in my same event. He told me, “Be very careful how much work you do outside of the dance studio, because you’re going to be putting so much stress on your body. You don’t want to risk injury.” We’re being pretty strategic to not do too much outside of the rehearsal studio right now. I’m all in on dance.

You’ve been in the spotlight as an athlete, and you’ve also done advocacy work throughout your adolescence. What has it been like being introduced to this new level of exposure that comes with Dancing With the Stars?

I mean, Dancing With the Stars is another level. The fanbase is so amazing and massive, and it is so beautiful to see the love and support. Honestly, this is definitely a journey that is a roller coaster of emotions. There’s so much going on, and the support I’ve felt, it’s just so special. I’m beyond grateful.

How do you think your background, not only as an athlete, but somebody who has been in the public eye has been helpful during your time on the show?

When I step into the ballroom, it feels the same way I’ve always felt my whole life when I step onto the track and I’m about to compete. That has been helpful just in the athlete mentality, of course, that Amber and I have, and it translates in a different way. Of course, I’m not necessarily running full speed for 100 meters when I’m on the dance floor. It’s a little bit more intricate, delicate, artistic.

You are partnered with Daniella and Amber is with Pasha. A lot of fans think the mirrorball might end up in the Pashkov-Karagach household. With that expectation and how great you both have done, does that put an added level of pressure on your couples, or do you think being partnered with somebody who has a husband competing on the show has allowed for more collaboration between your couples?

Definitely more collaboration. It feels like we’re going through this side by side. Of course, you know, everyone’s super excited for us on social media, and it means a lot to Amber and I. I saw a couple funny videos of people saying that we need to do what they did in the Hunger Games, and like eat the berries and split the trophy. But no, Amber and I are teammates in this, and she’s so amazing. And Pasha and Dani collaborate obviously with each other all the time; they are married, they are each other’s rocks, so Amber and I have become really, really close throughout this experience.

It’s cool because in an experience that can super easily feel overwhelming to have so many eyes on you at all times and we’re doing this thing that is out of our comfort zone in some ways, to have somebody who you feel like is on the same team with you, navigating with you, it’s really special. I really cherish Amber and I’s friendship. And you know, we take it one week at a time. We have to dance every week like it’s our last. We focus one week at a time, but of course it would be really special if we had the opportunity to get to the finale together.

If you did win the show, you would be the first amputee to ever win Dancing With the Stars. What would winning the show mean to you?

Of course, getting the opportunity to make the finale, to win the show, to get to represent the disabled community in that way and become the first amputee to win Dancing With the Stars would be very, very special, and would mean a lot to myself and hopefully to all people with disabilities and the community as a whole. That’s the motivating factor; is representing my people well, representing this contingent of the population that I feel hasn’t had proper representation in mainstream media and doesn’t feel maybe properly included in society. That’s the motivation for even being on the show in the first place, is [to] represent them well. And then hopefully in the process, if I can go out there and do some fun dances, maybe people all over America, their perception of disability will change ever so slightly. That’s really important to me.

I’ve seen videos of young kids watching you dance and being inspired by you. How does that feel to know that you are inspiring such a vast majority of people as you take on Dancing With the Stars?

So so so special. I watch those videos all the time —

You’re always in the comments.

I try to be. First of all, watching videos where I get to see people with disabilities cheering me on is so special for me. But then also, if I get to send a little bit of love back and respond and say how appreciative I am for them, [that] takes two, three seconds out of my day. It just creates a beautiful love and energy back and forth, so I feel like it’s always worth it. I try to respond every time I see a video or something like that.

But seeing those videos and the support from all over social media, I mean, I just watched this video recently of this little kid who has a hand difference and he’s jumping up and down on his couch and watching me, and that warms my heart. That’s the type of stuff that brings a tear to my eye, and that’s the motivator. That’s what’s fueling my fire.

What do you and Dani have planned for Disney Night?

We are dancing a samba to The Little Mermaid, which will be a lot of fun. Everybody online, one of the weeks earlier in the season, said I look like Prince Eric all over social media because I slick my hair back (laughs). And so now we’re doing a samba to Little Mermaid “Under the Sea,” and it’ll be a lot of fun. It’s a classic, so gotta do it right.

Was this already picked out for you to do a Little Mermaid inspired number, or did that spark after the social media of it all?

I honestly think we were back and forth between a couple options, but the social media love around Prince Eric, I think, guided us in the right direction.

What is your favorite part of the full week process of Dancing With the Stars?

Live show day, 100 percent.

What has been your favorite dance so far that you’ve performed?

Our week two cha cha.

What has been the hardest dance style to learn so far?

Our salsa was probably the hardest, but now it’s going to be the samba (laughs.)

What is the greatest piece of advice that somebody has given you that you’ve applied and taken into Dancing With the Stars?

Be as present as humanly possible.

What is the number one thing you have learned from your partnership with Dani?

Oh, I’ve learned so much from my partnership with Dani. She is a special, special human being. The main thing that I’ve learned is her motto is trust the process. So we put a lot of work in, we trust the process. We work as hard as possible, and then we go out there and give it our all. But definitely trusting the process, trusting our work has been a great lesson.

Describe season 35 of Dancing With the Stars in one word.

Electric.

You’re in the Dancing With the Stars world right now. You’re also training for the next Paralympics. Is there anything else that you want to tease for your future?

We have a nonprofit, Angel City Sports. We do sports for people with physical disabilities in Southern California. So anybody that has a physical disability and wants to come out and try sport. Also we have a documentary called Adaptive, which aired after the last Paralympics in Paris, and we’re in the process of filming season two to L.A. 2028, and that will eventually air at some point. But fun things in the pipeline, and obviously focused on dancing right now.

Johnny Depp is an accomplished character actor with a long and wildly successful career. Arguably one of Depp's best roles is as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which are streaming in their entirety with a Disney+ subscription. I didn't expect the 63 year-old to have jokes when talking about possibly returning to the franchise alongside Orlando Bloom's Will Turner.

While Depp will return to theaters in Ebenezer this month, some moviegoers are hoping to see him return in a future Pirates of the Caribbean movie. During a recent interview with People, the Edward Scissorhands actor was asked about possibly returning to the beloved franchise, and responded with:

Well, I think we should have a contest of who can grow the fastest non-beard. Because neither of us can grow a beard, I don't think. I can't, for sure, but maybe he can. I don't know.

Shots fired. Despite having facial hair in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, it turns out that neither Johnny Depp nor Orlando Bloom can actually grow a beard. While sidestepping whether or not he'd be down to return as Jack Sparrow, the Sweeney Todd actor was sure to poke fun at both himself, and his famous co-star.

Ebenezer marks Depp's first real return to a big Hollywood movie since the verdict of his defamation trial with Amber Heard was revealed. He spent a few years living abroad and getting out of the spotlight, but he's back playing the title role of Ti West's forthcoming holiday movie. Only time will tell if the upcoming book to screen adaptation ends up being considered one of the best Christmas movies of all time, but it seems like a game changer for the actor.

There's been chatter about more Pirates movies for a few years. At one point multiple movies were in development, including one that would star Margot Robbie. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any concrete updates about one of these projects moving forward in the development process. Although with Johnny Depp returning to the big screen, I have to assume that the chatter surrounding the franchise, and his possible return as Captain Jack Sparrow, will get louder.

Depp starred as the protagonist in all five of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which ran in theaters from 2003 to 2017. The same can't be said for Orlando Bloom, who was absent for On Stranger Tides. He ended up returning in Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is the most recent installment in the action/adventure property.

All five of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies are streaming now on Disney+. Only time will tell if a sixth movie ends up being green lit by the powers that be at Disney, but there does seem to be a ton of chatter about that possibility online.

Sky Sports pundit Mark Webster says Fallon Sherrock "should not have been selected to play" for Netflix 'Beat Luke Littler' in which she claimed the winning prize of £501,000.

Sherrock overcame the double world champion in a one-off leg of 501 to claim the second biggest prize in darts history.

But this was not Sherrock's first foray into the limelight as she created history by becoming the first woman to win at the World Championship when she made the third round in December 2019, and she went on to break several other barriers in the game, including becoming the first woman to reach the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts.

The 32-year-old, who was presented to the crowd in Manchester as being a hairdresser from Milton Keyes, had made more darting history in 2023 when she became the first female to produce a televised nine-dart finish.

But her inclusion in the line-up for the TV show, attracted criticism given her stature in the game, even if she met the criteria for applicants because she does not hold a PDC Tour Card.

"The backlash Fallon got is nothing she's done wrong," Webster told Sky Sports. "Ultimately, I don't think she should have been selected to play, but then you can't blame Fallon for going to try and win half a million pounds in fair play.

"It was a good leg. But look, I don't think the backlash will bother her.

"She's got a few quid, hasn't she? So she'll just crack on. People forget about these things. She just needs to get herself ready for the rest of the year now.

"She'll be quite chilled. I'm not saying she has financial burdens, but that's going to really help going forward - doing things for her."

Was the format of the show unfair?

Darts prodigy Jayden Walker, 14, who has been labelled the next Littler by fans and has taken a leg off 'The Nuke' at an exhibition event, did get a shot over one leg, but lost, while WDF No 1 Mitchell Lawrie, 15, failed to get his chance despite all the pre-event hype.

Webster thinks the format of the show was unfair, saying: "I don't think she should have been able to play. I didn't like the way it was made as an amateur beats Luke Littler, and a lot of them weren't amateurs. Fallon's a professional player.

"I think Mitchell Lawrie was due to play as well, but he didn't get on. I do think they should have played out the remaining legs and then they could have chipped away at Fallon's money if they'd won. So one more win, they split Fallon's money, just for a bit of jeopardy.

"I thought it was a brilliant show. The production was fantastic.

"The concept of it was good. I just think the selection process is kind of a bit of a grey area."

Hearn: Sherrock is not a PDC Tour Card holder

PDC chief Barry Hearn, who was involved in the audition process, defended the line-up.

Asked whether Sherrock's inclusion was unfair, he said: "No, not at all. She's not a PDC Tour Card holder. She's entitled to enter. Why should she be denied?

"She's a well-known player and she's a very good player. But Mitchell Lawrie is a very well-known player and an excellent player.

"Do you want just a series of 20 matches where someone can't even throw a dart? No, of course we want excellence competing against excellence, and that's what it was all about."

Sink has entered talks to star in and produce The Guest, a feature adaptation of Emma Cline's bestselling 2024 novel, from A24 and Square Peg. Lorene Scafaria, the writer-director behind Hustlers, is also reported to be in talks to helm the project. 

Published by Penguin Random House, The Guest follows a calculating grifter and escort named Alex, a story about precarity, survival, and living on the edge. The novel was longlisted for the PEN/Faulkner Award and named a best book of the year by more than a dozen publications, so readers have been eager to see it adapted. Sink is reportedly a big fan of the book herself and attached herself to the project as soon as A24 secured the film rights, per Variety. 

In many ways, The Guest is the ideal next step after Brand New Day for Sink. It lets her lead a prestige drama, step into a producer's chair for the first time on a feature, and play a character with no superpowers before she steps back into cape roles. 

In Brand New Day, Sink's Jean Grey operates as a villain, battling the Department of Damage Control and its boss, Bill Metzger, played by Tramell Tillman. The character is a deep cut from the comics, first appearing in the 1999 miniseries X-Men: Children of the Atom as an anti-mutant activist, reworked for the MCU as a Damage Control higher-up. 

Over the course of her quest for revenge, Jean clashes with Tom Holland's Spider-Man before the two eventually settle their differences, and she boards a bus heading out of New York, presumably bound for Westchester, home of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It's a perfect springboard into the X-Men reboot and Sink's future in the MCU.

Before the X-Men reboot arrives, the MCU must first close out the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18 and serves as a farewell to the Fox-era X-Men, with Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and Kelsey Grammer all returning. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027, and there's an opportunity for Sink to enter the picture. 

Even before Brand New Day premiered, a 2025 report from Deadline listed Secret Wars as the next MCU movie she would appear in. Months later, popular scooper MyTimeToShineHello claimed that Sink's telepath was set to play a "major" role in the Multiverse Saga finale. Of course, Marvel Studios, famous for shrouding its big reveals in secrecy, has yet to confirm any of this, but the signs pointing to Sink's appearance look promising. 

Secret Wars is also expected to end with a soft reset of MCU continuity, one that clears the runway for the mutant era and the so-called Mutant Saga to follow. At least a cameo from the character expected to helm that saga isn't exactly out of place. Giving Jean Grey a role in the movie also makes sense as a way to build buzz for Jake Schreier's X-Men reboot, especially in an era where it's getting harder to fill theater seats. 

Sink will lead the X-Men film, which arrives on May 5, 2028, a few months after Secret Wars. Jean Grey will be one of the five founding X-Men members in the movie, and with Cyclops and Angel already cast, that's three of the original five from the comics accounted for. Plenty of stories can spin off from that film, giving Sink no shortage of MCU work. 

Adam Driver has also been cast as Mister Sinister, a notorious geneticist whose comic history spells trouble for Jean Grey and Cyclops, two characters he's utterly obsessed with. Rumors making the rounds suggest Sink has signed on for three or more Marvel movies, pointing to a much bigger future beyond Brand New Day and the X-Men movie. 

The actresses open up about their characters' unconventional friendship, Boris Kodjoe joining the cast and why their NBC comedy is anything but niche.

There's no shortage of chaos surrounding Tracy Morgan's character on NBC's "The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins," but the women in his life aren't interested in adding to the drama. At least not with each other.

As the comedy prepares to return for its second season on Nov. 2, Erika Alexander and Precious Way are excited to continue exploring the unconventional relationship between Monica, Reggie's ex-wife and business manager, and Brina, his much younger fiancée.

Rather than competing for Reggie's affection, the two women have developed a friendship built on mutual admiration, even if there's plenty of shade to go around.

"I think people want it to be a cat fight, but that would be an old version of what this type of relationship would be like," Alexander told theGrio.

The actress, who famously played Maxine Shaw on "Living Single," believes Monica is far too intelligent to waste her energy on rivalry, while Brina brings her own unique strengths to the family dynamic.

Way agrees, explaining that Brina looks up to Monica for everything she's accomplished, including building the business empire that Brina now benefits from.

"She can't replace Monica and she doesn't want to," Way said. "Brina genuinely wants Monica there because that's her girl. That's her friend, her shady friend."

While Monica and Brina may have found common ground, Reggie still has some growing up to do.

Season Two finds the former football star continuing his quest for redemption with help from his family and documentary filmmaker Arthur Tobin, played by Daniel Radcliffe. But Way says audiences shouldn't mistake Brina's youthful energy and bubbly personality for a willingness to tolerate Reggie's bad behavior.

"What's so fun about playing Brina is she surprises everybody by being very stern on Reggie," Way explained. "She doesn't let him slide and get away with things."

The actress says Brina's ability to hold Reggie accountable is part of what makes their relationship special.

Meanwhile, Monica is finally getting an opportunity to focus on her own happiness.

"Monica's finally got a life outside of Reggie's mess," Alexander said.

Enter Boris Kodjoe, who joins the cast as Leslie "LP" Pervis, a former college classmate of Monica and Reggie's who has transformed from an awkward child prodigy into a handsome, successful entrepreneur.

Alexander, who previously worked with Kodjoe on the television series "Street Time," says the new romance creates an interesting complication for her character's ex-husband.

"Let's just say Reggie notices that," she teased, explaining that Monica finding someone new threatens the comfortable arrangement Reggie has continued to enjoy despite their divorce.

Beyond the laughs, Alexander appreciates the show's willingness to explore the complicated process of rebuilding relationships, something she believes also reflects Morgan's remarkable personal journey.

"We're actually in the architecture of Tracy Morgan, who's rebuilt his whole life," Alexander said, referencing the comedian's recovery from a devastating 2014 car accident.

The actress credits Morgan's authenticity as the foundation of the series.

"Tracy is so achingly honest, and you can't fake that. You can't teach it," she said.

She even offered a celestial comparison between Morgan and another comedy legend.

"You've got Eddie Murphy, who's a comet. You know, he's in the sky for a while, but Tracy's the sun. He comes up every day, and we depend on that."

For Alexander, whose television career spans decades, the opportunity to portray a successful Black woman in midlife is equally significant.

"Guess who has the power? Monica. She ain't the long-suffering wife. She's the agent, business manager. She holds contracts," Alexander said. "A Black woman in midlife running a business is still something you don't see enough of."

Way is equally appreciative of the opportunity to portray a character who defies expectations.

"She's very smart, but she's also beautiful. But she also holds her place in this very different dynamic," Way said, crediting the show's writers for creating a character she is proud to play.

Alexander also emphasized the importance of recognizing Black leadership behind the camera, specifically NBCUniversal television executive Pearlena Igbokwe.

"She's at the top. She shapes what gets made. Who's at the top matters," Alexander said.

And while Hollywood continues to grapple with questions about diversity and representation, Alexander wants audiences to recognize the significance of a Black family anchoring a network comedy in primetime.

"This is a Black family at the center of a network comedy in primetime at NBC, built by Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Sam Means and Tracy Morgan," she said. "This is not a niche show. That's mainstream. That's big time."

"The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins" returns to NBC on Nov. 2. All episodes of season 1 are currently streaming on Peacock.

Judi Dench is reflecting on her relationship with Robin Williams and how he supported her when her husband, Michael Williams, was battling lung cancer in her forthcoming memoir, “Is It Too Late to Make a Run For It?”

Nearly 30 years earlier, Dench had been staying at actor Billy Connolly’s Scotland home with her late husband when they ran into Williams. “One evening there was a big party in the woods with a ceilidh and a bonfire,” Dench writes (via People). “Michael was very ill at the time and I could see him flagging, so we said our good nights and began walking up this very steep hill.”

“Robin Williams appeared beside us and offered to help, but Michael said he could manage,” Dench continues. “And Robin said, ‘Well, I think I’ll ride shotgun anyway’, which was such a lovely thing to say. I’ve often thought about that moment — Robin’s sensitivity and understanding, just offering to be there, gently supportive, without imposing himself.”

Dench had worked with the “Hook” actor years prior in 1996’s “Hamlet,” and she’d been presented with the Oscar for best supporting actress for the role of Queen Elizabeth I in “Shakespeare in Love” by Williams in 1999. The iconic comedian, who starred in films including “Jumanji,” “Good Will Hunting,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” and more, died in 2014 at the age of 63.

Dench’s husband died on Jan. 11, 2001, at the age of 65. The two had married in 1971.

Also in her memoir, which hits shelves on Tuesday, Dench reflected on her experience acting in the panned 2019 film “Cats” for the first time publicly.

Adapted from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hugely successful musical of the same name, the film was considered a critical and commercial failure despite its stacked cast — which also included James Corden, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift and others among Dench.

“Oh God, I can’t bear it – and [Lloyd Webber] had waited so long for it to be made,” she wrote. “What a waste of all that goodwill and talent. I understand the critics were rather hostile to the film. I never saw the final cut so I can’t judge. All I’ll say is nobody sets out to give a poor performance or make a bad film. You do your best, offer something up and hope that people will get on board and join the party.”

Filming Hallmark Channel's new holiday movie A Danish Christmas was a family affair for stars Emilie Ullerup and Corey Sevier.

Ullerup was so thrilled for the chance to film and executive produce her first Hallmark movie in her native Denmark, she couldn't pass up the chance to include many of her family members in the cast. Sevier, meanwhile, brought his wife and kids to Copenhagen to experience the magic of Christmastime there last December.

"My mom has a speaking line, and I think I look exactly like her, so I'm gonna let people find her," Ullerup exclusively told Parade before the movie's premiere on Sunday, November 1. "And then my cousin, who opens up the movie, plays my HR boss. She doesn't have any lines, but you'll see her. I have my cousin's son in it, my sisters are in it, and my nephew is in it. He walks the Santa Lucia walk — you'll know when you see it. Anywhere I could pepper (my family) in, they were there."

Ullerup's husband, Kyle Cassie, also has a significant role, providing fans with a fun onscreen reunion for the Hallmark couple. When Ullerup was starring as Bree O'Brien on Hallmark's hit series "Chesapeake Shores," Cassie had a guest starring role as her ex-boyfriend, Martin Demming, late in the first season and early in the second.

The beloved actress told Parade of her family's involvement, "They were all so excited. I got to do this and be home for two months and, like, live there with them. I think they were all just like, 'We're proud of our country' and they were just happy to be there, happy to support. … Everyone was just like, 'I want to help! I want to make this the best it can be.'"

Meanwhile, Sevier marveled to Parade about the chance to spend his first time in Denmark with his wife, Hallmark screenwriter Kate Pragnell, and their kids, who were two and seven at the time.

"It was the first time we'd ever traveled to Europe (as a family) and it was just magical," he beamed. "It really was. And I was worried about it, wondering how the kids were going to react, and they still talk about it. It's a core memory, for sure."

Among the highlights, he said, were the amazing pastries (they stopped at a different bakery every day!) and a visit to the famed Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park.

"I came into it as an actor and a character never having been there," Sevier said, "and it was so incredible. Some of the kindest people in the world. They say it's one of the happiest places in the world and I really felt that. If you get the opportunity, any time of year would be absolutely stunning, but if you're a big Christmas person, it really just knocks your socks off."

In "A Danish Christmas," Ullerup plays Marie, a Chicago executive who returns home to Copenhagen for the holidays with her family. When she learns their quaint inn is on the verge of closing due to a downturn in customers, Marie gets to work and accidentally mistakes one guest named Ryan Miller (Sevier) for a travel writer with the same name, and gives him an incredible experience touring the city — until the travel writer actually shows up, too.

Hallmark Channel's "A Danish Christmas" premieres on November 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will be available to stream via Hallmark+ the next day.

From the high-stakes action of "Lioness" to the holiday adventure of "A Very Arctic Christmas," Jill Wagner is taking on two very different worlds.

But off camera, the actress has traded Hollywood's hustle for a quieter life raising her two daughters on a Tennessee farm in a town of just 800 people — where horses and buggies are still a familiar sight.

"First of all, I love Tennessee … I'm from the South. I'm from North Carolina," she told Fox News Digital. "I love the people here but especially love the small-town mentality."

Life in her Tennessee town offers a glimpse of a world that can feel far removed from Hollywood.

"I was at the post office this morning and one of the Mennonites was in front of me … I got to look at their horse and buggy," she said.

Wagner said the small-town atmosphere has become an important part of the childhood she and her husband want to give their girls.

The actress explained why she hopes her daughters will eventually appreciate the slower pace, even if they someday follow in her footsteps and move to bigger cities.

"In some ways, going back to a simpler, slower pace … I think as we get older, or at least I know I can speak for myself, as I get older, I really value that," she added.

Wagner knows the pull of Hollywood firsthand. She left home at 17 to pursue a career in entertainment and suspects her daughters may one day be eager to spread their own wings.

But she hopes they'll always remember what their upbringing gave them.

"And I'm sure they'll do the same, but I hope what it does is bring them back to the simple-ness of life and what it can be … That's a gift that my husband and I gave them, and they probably don't even know it yet," she said.

Away from the action of "Lioness," Wagner is embracing the holiday spirit in "A Very Arctic Christmas," reuniting with Cameron Mathison for a festive adventure.

Wagner plays Jane, a wildlife conservationist who helps a father and daughter navigate an unexpected Arctic adventure after their holiday cruise goes off course.

The actress said working with Mathison brings plenty of laughs to "A Very Arctic Christmas" set.

"There's never any dull moment when you have Cameron Mathison and I on set together. In fact, it's hard for us to get through a scene without laughing, I'm sure. Robin Dunne, the director, is always rolling his eyes, like, ‘Oh, guys, guys, guys, guys, bring it in,'" she laughed.

For Wagner, the holiday films also have a personal connection.

The actress has found ways to include her daughters in her Christmas-movie tradition.

When Wagner's daughters were younger, she included them in one of her films as extras, giving them a chance to sit on Santa's lap.

Now that they're older, Wagner said they understand that Christmas movies are a genre of their own — and she hopes the experience becomes a lasting family tradition.

"And I just hope that one day when I'm long and gone, that is a tradition with each other's families is that they get on Christmas, and they get to watch that movie and just kind of laugh at the fact that we're all in a movie together at Christmas," she added.

While Wagner's career continues to take her between intense action roles and feel-good holiday projects, she values sharing those experiences with her daughters while giving them a childhood rooted in small-town life.

When Fox News Digital asked whether her daughters were becoming the Tennessee farm girls she had envisioned, Wagner admitted there's still some work to do.

"So, I don't know about farm girl. I know that … they love outdoors. They don't necessarily like doing farm work. So, we're trying to still work on that," she laughed.

"They do love running around barefooted in the dirt, and they can play outside all day long, which I love for them," Wagner said.

The family hopes to add chickens and goats when Wagner's work schedule allows more time at home.

"Maybe one day we'll get a horse or a pony for them," she added.

But for Wagner, the biggest perk of small-town life isn't just the farm — it's the neighbors who show up when it matters.

Her family owns Scott Mansion Farms, where they host charitable events benefiting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Dolly Parton's Children's Hospital. Wagner said the community's support has been especially meaningful.

"But the fact that people just show up at the gate and say, ‘What can we do to help?’ I think it just reminds me of how amazing humanity is … and how very special it is to have good neighbors," she said.

Wagner also hopes her daughters inherit her love of local festivals and community traditions.

"It's woven into my fabric. So, I'm going to pass that on to my girls. Hopefully they'll have the love for that like I do," she said.

This City Is Ours returned to BBC One over the weekend, but all eight episodes of season 2 are already streaming on iPlayer – and it's hard to resist bingeing such a fast-paced thrill ride.

The series follows Michael Kavanagh (James Nelson-Joyce), a former fixer to the Phelan crime family, who attempts to leave his old ways behind for a quiet(er) life with girlfriend, Diana (Hannah Onslow).

However, the consequences of a rollercoaster first season soon come calling, pulling him into a dangerous new gang conflict unfolding on the streets of Liverpool.

The escalating feud takes a heavy toll on all concerned, leading to a knockout This City Is Ours season 2 finale that sets the stage for an even darker third entry.

This City Is Ours season 2 ending explained: Michael's "winter" begins

This City Is Ours leaves Michael Kavanagh in a state of devastation and mortal danger, effectively rendering Felipe (Álvaro Morte) the true victor of season 2.

That may come as a surprise given that he ended the run in a body bag, but this fate appeared to be exactly what he wanted.

The cartel boss deliberately impaled himself on Diana's knife at the start of the season 2 finale, but left the blade in to ensure he wouldn't bleed out until Michael could attend the scene.

This, he explains, is all a ploy to bring out Michael's true nature, which was first exposed to him years earlier in a moment that changed Felipe forever.

The unstable crime boss alleges that the Phelans' ruthless fixer killed his lover Luis, in a show of loyalty to then-top dog, Ricardo (Daniel Cerqueira).

Suffice it to say, Felipe never forgave him. But revenge is a dish best served cold and, all this time later, he tucks in to a generous serving.

Michael casts doubt on his claimed innocence when he swats aside Diana's suggestion of calling an ambulance for Felipe – and makes it clear that he intends to execute him.

This plays into Felipe's hands. Based on his probing conversations with Diana, from when she was his hostage, he understands that she wants nothing more than a normal life.

Felipe makes the educated guess that provoking Michael into indulging his worst tendencies would destroy what little hope of that bruised dream remained.

The goal: to doom Michael to a life as lonely and brokenhearted as his own. Chillingly, in his final breaths, Felipe spits the words: "Welcome to winter."

Michael gets his trusted lads on cleaning up the scene, before telling Diana his intention of re-entering business with the Phelans, feeling that he "deserves" a larger buyout from the business he helped build.

To Diana, it's confirmation that Felipe's perception of Michael is correct, and that he will never be ready to leave his life of crime behind for good.

Elaine (Julie Graham) welcomes Michael back into the Phelan firm, recognising that he will be a necessary evil to dig them out of the hole that they've landed in since his departure.

In a major win, he and Banksey (Mike Noble) negotiate the sparing of troubled youth Freddie (Adam Abbou) in exchange for Ozzie Thompson (Shaun Evans), who is understood to be the true architect of the Phelans' season 2 pain.

Michael, Banksey, Jamie (Jack McMullen) and Bobby (Kevin Harvey) share responsibility for Ozzie's execution, as a kind of twisted team-building exercise. But don't go thinking that it's water under the bridge between these former rivals.

Elaine assures Jamie that their restored alliance with Michael is strictly temporary, and they will avenge Ronnie's death once the family business is stable again.

Alas, these untrustworthy bedfellows are the only people Michael will have to rely on going forward, as Diana officially ends their relationship in the heartbreaking final scenes.

Diana sends her mother, Lesley (Leanne Best), as a proxy to their planned coffee shop meet-up, as she fears that she wouldn't be able to go through with it herself.

Lesley's maternal instincts haven't dulled during her long stint in jail, as she eviscerates Michael for choosing his violent career over her daughter – and warns him to stay away, even suggesting she could murder him if he refuses.

Although it tears him up inside, Michael respects Diana's choice, and turns his back on her when he spies her staring from outside the café.

Is their love story truly over? It certainly seems that way, but This City Is Ours season 3 could have more surprises in store. Thankfully, it's already confirmed to be in the works.
