NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Saints WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) “should be good to go” against the Browns in Week 9.

The oft-injured Tyson hurt his hamstring in training camp and is yet to make his NFL debut. According to Schultz, he should be good to go Sunday against the Browns. A limited participant in practice throughout the week, it’s unclear how much Tyson might play in his first game. Eventually, though, he should settle in as the Saints’ WR2 behind Chris Olave. Tyson’s return also puts a damper on the fantasy prospects of Devaughn Vele and Juwan Johnson.

We do not yet know Tyson’s participation level at Friday’s practice, but he remained limited on Wednesday and Thursday. It seems like he may need another week before he makes his NFL debut, but we don’t know for sure. If active, Tyson would be FLEX-viable. It is possible the team initially keeps him on a snap count.

The Saints’ first-round rookie is now on the wrong side of questionable. It would have been nice to see him practice in full today. That said, New Orleans Football’s Nick Underhill commented positively on Tyson’s performance, saying Tyson “does not look limited.”

Tyson aggravated his nagging hamstring late in the offseason and was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 1. He will practice for the first time today. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill said it’s possible Tyson plays this week, though he immediately mentioned a potential snap count for the rookie. The Saints likely want to ramp Tyson up slowly to avoid another setback. He was limited in Wednesday’s session. Tyson should be stashed in every fantasy format, but managers can’t count on him as even a FLEX play for at least one more week.

When Tyson landed on injured reserve, the initial belief was that he would return sometime after the Saints’ bye week. Whether that is in Week 9 or the coming weeks is still to be determined, but we wouldn’t expect him to take the field the same week the team opens his return window. That said, opening that window for a return is the first step in getting Tyson back on the field. If he takes the field Wednesday, Tyson would then have 21 days to practice before the team would need to officially activate him from injured reserve. We could still be a few weeks away from seeing the the rookie first-rounder in action, but hopefully we get an encouraging update on his progression this week.

  • NO Tight End #83

Johnson was solid over the first four weeks of the season, but this was another clunker for the 30-year-old tight end. After going over 50 yards in his first four games and bringing in three touchdowns, Johnson has just 23 total yards without a score in the next three. Because of positional value Johnson can’t be completely ignored, but the Saints haven’t paid much attention to him lately, so it’s time to look for alternatives, at least.

  • NO Wide Receiver #14

Vele brought in a one-yard touchdown on fourth-and-goal late in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-10. It would be the last points the Saints would score. Vele has hovered around these numbers through the first half of 2026, and while he provides Shough with a nice safety valve, it’s not exactly what fantasy managers should be chasing. He’ll be a WR4 in Week 9 against the Browns after the Saints “enjoy” their bye in Week 8.

  • NO Wide Receiver #0

Loomis said Tyson is “improving” in his long rehab from a major preseason hamstring injury. Tyson, who traveled with the Saints to France for their Week 7 game against the Steelers, could still be a couple weeks away as the team takes a cautious approach to his recovery. In the meantime, Bryce Lance will operate as the Saints’ No. 2 wideout behind Chris Olave. Lance over the past two weeks has a 13 percent target share and a 20 percent air yards share in the pass-first New Orleans offense.

  • NO Wide Receiver #0

The Saints have not opened Tyson’s 21-day window for return, but the fact that he traveled with the team suggests his window could be opened later this week, which would allow him to begin practicing with the team. There’s some belief that Tyson could return in Week 9 after the Saints’ bye week, but the team hasn’t committed to a return date for him just yet. We wouldn’t expect Tyson to suit up this week against the Steelers.

  • NO Tight End #83

Johnson was silent in a low-efficiency passing day for the Saints offense. The tight end position in general was a non-factor as a pass-catching group on the day. As Tyler Shough deals with broken bones in his non-throwing hand, the Saints’ passing game is tightening up and has less room for Johnson. He is a fantasy TE2 for Week 7 against the Steelers.

  • NO Wide Receiver #14

The Saints offense has not pushed the ball downfield over the past two weeks, leading to low-scoring outputs for Vele. He caught three passes on the day, and nearly reeled in a fourth catch on a Tyler Shough sideline overthrow in the second quarter. When the Saints aren’t in a pass-happy game script, Vele is relegated to touchdown-dependent FLEX value. He will be in the WR4 ranks against the Steelers for Week 7.

Dion Dawkins (ribs) and Alec Anderson (ankle) are questionable for Week 9 against the Vikings.

The Bills enter Week 9 with the entire left side of one the league’s top offensive lines questionable. Both players did not practice through Friday before drawing the questionable tag for Monday Night Football against the Vikings. We likely won’t know their respective statuses until inactives are released 90 minutes prior to first kick. Absences would be a detriment to the run game and could lead to increased emphasis on the short areas of the field through the air.

Bills ruled out Joshua Palmer (hamstring) for Week 9 against the Vikings.

Palmer has been in and out of the lineup since injuring his hamstring in Week 4, managing only seven offensive snaps last week before succumbing to an aggravation. He will miss his second game of the season when the Bills take on the one-loss Vikings on Monday Night Football. Skylar Bell could find himself active for the third time in his rookie season, although DJ Moore, Keon Coleman, and Khalil Shakir are likely to dominate snaps and routes at the position.

    Saints released RB Kendre Miller.

The team brought back Audric Estime to their practice squad earlier in the week, releasing Miller Saturday. The moved comes after the veteran played 137 offensive snaps for a backfield missing its top option for most of the season. Miller had a 20-carry game for the Saints three short weeks ago and now finds himself without a home. Expect him to land on a practice squad in short order.

Rams activated EDGE Myles Garrett (knee) from injured reserve.

No surprise here as Rams HC Sean McVay told reporters Friday that Garrett is expected to play in Week 9 against the Commanders. The Rams are 4-4, but will finally have Garrett and Aaron Donald on the same defensive line. That could cause problems for opposing offensive lines, starting with Washington’s on Sunday.

The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reports Seahawks QB Drew Lock (elbow) has severe tendonitis in his elbow.

Pelissero reiterated that Lock looked good in practice and will start against the Cardinals in Week 9. Still, Lock has been dealing with this since earlier this season and at one point wasn’t able to throw because of it. Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald said earlier this week he didn’t know how much Lock will be able to throw. Despite his play in relief of Sam Darnold (quad/ribs) earlier this year, Lock isn’t a priority in 1QB leagues. Jalen Milroe could even be worth stashing in deeper formats given that Lock’s tendonitis could flare up at anytime.

NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring) is drawing interest from multiple teams.

Pierce was released by the Eagles after agreeing to an injury settlement on Friday. He’s currently still dealing with what Wilson described as a “relatively minor” hamstring injury. Wilson lists the Dolphins, Jaguars, Panthers, Ravens, 49ers, Cardinals and Titans as teams that have contracted Pierce, who is rehabbing in Houston. Expected to be ready in 2-3 weeks, Pierce could catch on with another team soon, though it’s unlikely to be in a starting role.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Titans WR Calvin Ridley “could be had for a late-round pick.”

The Titans are listening on Ridley, who could be had for a late-round pick, according to Schefter. The Chiefs, Steelers and 49ers are the most likely teams to be in the market for a wide receiver ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero also reported that multiple wide receivers could be traded before the deadline and listed Ridley as a name to watch.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Titans aren’t interested in trading RB Tony Pollard.

A previous report from Albert Breer suggested the team might be willing to trade Pollard, who is in the last year of his contract, for a fourth-round pick. Schefter threw cold water on that theory, reporting Tennessee isn’t interested in trading the 29-year-old running back. Showing fresh legs in recent weeks, Pollard is a solid RB2 the rest of the way even on a struggling Titans offense.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Commanders “haven’t completely abandoned” the idea of acquiring WR Brandon Aiyuk.

Aiyuk was rumored to end up in Washington all offseason and there seemingly could still be a fit there with Terry McLaurin out for the season. However, this report suggests the Commanders haven’t completely ruled it out rather than this being something they’re actively pursuing. Aiyuk met with 49ers brass Friday, though a resolution proved elusive. This saga is far from over.
