Comedy duo Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse paid a visit to Lancashire for a recent episode of their TV show.

Their trip, filmed last year, saw them travel through the Ribble Valley as part of the latest series of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.

In the episode, they spent time at Riverside House, a luxury property in the heart of the Ribble Valley.

Bob prepared a Lancashire hotpot while Paul explored the nearby river in search of chub and barbel fish.

Ted, the pair’s canine companion, was also featured in the episode.

Off camera, the comedians also visited The Millstone in Mellor. A member of staff shared a 'throwback picture' of the duo there last year.

A spokesperson for The Millstone said: "A little throwback… we had the pleasure of welcoming these lovely gents to stay with us while filming the Lancashire episode of Gone Fishing last year.

"It was a delight to host Bob Mortimer, Paul Whitehouse and friends at The Millstone, wonderful guests and a memory we’ll treasure.

"We loved seeing the episode air this week."

The pair also stopped at The Milking Parlour in Sabden, where they picked up refreshments before heading to the River Ribble.

A spokesperson for The Milking Parlour said: "This time last year, we had the absolute pleasure of spending the morning filming with Bob Mortimer, Paul Whitehouse and the wonderful Ted, who called in at The Milking Parlour to pick up some of our raw milk and milkshake before heading off to fish on the River Ribble.

"We had such a fantastic morning; the whole film crew were absolutely brilliant too.

"Now for the sad news… last week, we received an email to say that our footage hadn’t made the final cut.

"We’re absolutely gutted, as you can imagine, as we’ve been chomping at the bit to share these happy memories with you all.

"But because this is Ted’s last ever appearance, the episode is being dedicated to him, giving him as much airtime as possible, as a final tribute."

You can watch Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on BBC iPlayer.
