Country star Cody Johnson has cancelled his Irish concerts at the last minute, telling fans he is ‘extremely disappointed’. The Texan was due on stage at the Belfast arena on Wednesday night, with doors opening at 6.30pm, and at Dublin’s 3Arena on Thursday, November 5. Concert promoter MCD Productions shared a statement from the singer on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the Belfast show. He explained that he had been diagnosed with a viral infection. The statement read: ‘I am really sorry to say that I am going to have to cancel tonight’s show in Belfast and tomorrow’s show in Dublin. ‘I have been doing all I can to make these shows happen but after just seeing a doctor and on their advice, I have been diagnosed with a viral infection and advised not to perform. ‘I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and with the late announcement but wanted to do all I could to try and proceed with the shows. ‘I am extremely disappointed not to be able to play as I have been looking forward to the Irish shows for a long time. ‘I will do all I can to come back to Ireland as soon as I can and play these shows for you all. ‘Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase. ‘Thank you for your understanding. Cody.’ The two Irish dates were meant to close Johnson’s Cody Johnson Live ‘26 tour of the UK and Ireland. The tour began in Manchester on October 24 and went on to London, Birmingham and Glasgow, where he played on Monday night. US country singer Parker McCollum, who was playing his first shows in the UK and Ireland, and Emily Ann Roberts were the support acts. Johnson is one of the biggest names in modern country music. He was named Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2025 CMA Awards, and his album Leather won the CMA’s Album of the Year. Tickets for the Dublin show were priced from €68.20 when they went on sale in February. No new dates have been announced yet but Johnson’s statement says he will do all he can to come back to Ireland. Refunds are available from wherever the ticket was bought. For most fans, that will be Ticketmaster. The ticket refund will not cover hotels, flights or travel booked for the gigs.
