De’Anthony Melton accounted for 21 points (6-of-9 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and six three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Clippers.

With Stephen Curry getting the night off, Melton started Sunday’s game and played 28 minutes. Unsurprisingly, the one-time fantasy basketball darling recorded a stat line that reminded folks why he remains a popular deep-league option. Melton’s six three-pointers were the most he’s made in a game since December 9, 2022, when he hit eight as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. With Curry expected to play Monday against the Suns, Melton will head back to the bench.

The Warriors are resting Stephen Curry and Draymond Green for Sunday’s game, prompting multiple changes to the starting lineup. Melton, Niang and Bassey will start, with Gui Santos coming off the bench after starting Friday’s win over the Lakers.

  • GSW Guard #8

Golden State’s bench made the difference on Friday, outscoring the Lakers’ bench 50-7. Melton scored 13 of his 16 points in the second quarter, shooting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. He needed just 21 minutes to record his final stat line, showing why Melton can add value for category-league managers despite coming off the bench. The Warriors play one more game this week, hosting the Clippers on Sunday.

  • GSW Guard #8

Melton didn’t start Saturday’s game, but Stephen Curry’s and Brandin Podziemski’s absences gave him more opportunities. Melton took advantage, scoring 25 points, the most he’s scored in a game since 27 against the Wizards on March 16. Add in the rebounds, assists and steals, and Saturday night was a good one for fantasy managers who slotted Melton into their lineups.

  • GSW Guard #30

No surprise here as Curry said after Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies that he probably wouldn’t play against the Suns Saturday. With Brandin Podziemski also out, De’Anthony Melton and Will Richard could start and see significant minutes.

  • GSW Guard #2

Podziemski is available after missing Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers due to a lower-back injury. His return means that De’Anthony Melton will come off the bench. Ike gets his first NBA start, letting Green play his usual power forward role.

  • GSW Guard #2

Podziemski is available after sitting out Wednesday’s season-opening loss to the Lakers. His return likely pushes De’Anthony Melton to the bench.

  • GSW Guard #2

Podziemski did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers, leading to De’Anthony Melton taking the starting spot. Melton played 21 minutes, while reserves Will Richard and Brandon Williams played 20 and 18 minutes, respectively. Expect a similar rotation if Podziemski can’t play on Friday.

  • GSW Guard #2

After missing practice on Monday, Podziemski will miss Wednesday’s opener against the Lakers due to lower back soreness. However, he may not be out long, with Kerr hoping Podz can play on Friday. De’Anthony Melton is the player whose role may expand the most while Podziemski sits.

  • GSW Guard #2

Podz missed practice on Monday and will now be unavailable for the season opener. There are high expectations for the type of impact he’ll make this season, so they’ll certainly miss him. De’Anthony Melton will likely replace him in the starting unit.

  • GSW Guard #2

This has been a bad 24 hours for the Warriors, who saw Stephen Curry suffer an ankle injury during Sunday’s open practice. Podziemski is dealing with a sore lower back, casting some doubt on his availability for Wednesday’s season opener against the Lakers. If he can’t play, De’Anthony Melton takes on added importance within the Warriors’ rotation.

Derrick Jones Jr. (knee) finished Sunday’s loss to the Warriors with nine points (3-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer.

Jones exited Sunday’s game late in the third quarter with a sore knee and did not return. That casts some doubt on his availability for Monday’s game against the Raptors. If Jones can’t play, Kobe Sanders may move into the starting lineup.

Gui Santos (knee) is out for Monday’s game against the Suns.

Santos did not play in the second half of Sunday’s win over the Clippers, finishing with four points, three rebounds, one assist and one block in nine minutes. Following the victory, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that the team will re-evaluate Santos, whose knee tendinitis remains an issue. At a minimum, he’ll miss Monday’s game, which could mean more playing time for Georges Niang

Immanuel Quickley accounted for 12 points (3-of-13 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.

Quickley has made at least three three-pointers in four straight and five of six games this season. That, along with the rebounds and assists, was the positive from his performance on Sunday. However, Quickley shot poorly against the Lakers, dropping his field-goal percentage to 37.6 percent for the season. It certainly isn’t impossible for a guard to provide solid value despite a low field-goal percentage, but fantasy managers want to see Quickley shoot better than he has.

RJ Barrett accumulated 22 points (9-of-18 FGs), 10 rebounds, five assists and four three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.

Barrett has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games, a stretch that coincides with the Raptors’ loss of Kawhi Leonard to a knee injury. While he didn’t record any defensive stats on Sunday, fantasy managers will be pleased with Barrett’s double-double, his first of the season, and the assists. The Raptors play three games next week, starting with the Clippers on Monday.

Scottie Barnes finished Sunday’s loss to the Lakers with 29 points (11-of-20 FGs, 7-of-13 FTs), six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Barnes’ mid-range mastery helped him score 29 points, and he’s scored at least 28 in three straight and four of his last five games. The exception was the October 25 loss to the Timberwolves, in which the Raptors’ star went scoreless. With Kawhi Leonard (knee) out for a few weeks, Barnes will need to shoulder more responsibility on both ends of the floor. And he’s shown the ability to do that in the past.

Walker Kessler amassed 16 points (6-of-6 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in Sunday’s win over the Raptors.

A favorite of many fantasy managers willing to punt free-throw percentage, Kessler didn’t miss a shot from the field or the foul line on Sunday. Add in the rebounds and blocks, and this was a nice end to the week for those rostering the 7-footer. Kessler, who’s averaging just under three blocks per game, has blocked at least three shots in three games.

Austin Reaves tallied 19 points (6-of-16 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), three rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Raptors.

After committing eight turnovers in Friday’s loss to the Warriors, Reaves committed three against the Raptors. He didn’t shoot the ball particularly well on Sunday, but Reaves entered the game shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc. He’ll look to bounce back on Monday when the Lakers host the Heat.

Luka Dončić finished Sunday’s win over the Raptors with 45 points (12-of-23 FGs, 13-of-13 FTs), 14 rebounds, six assists, five steals, one block and eight three-pointers.

Dončić put on a show Sunday night, shooting high percentages from the field and the foul line as part of an elite stat line. With the Lakers’ deep reserves failing to put the Raptors away, head coach JJ Redick had to insert four starters back into the game. That got Dončić four more points from the foul line. The lone negative was the seven turnovers, but the stat line was so robust that few will complain. The Lakers play four games next week, starting with the Heat on Monday.

    Player Stats

Kris Dunn accumulated 12 points (5-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, four assists and seven steals in Sunday’s loss to the Warriors.

After failing to record a steal in Friday’s loss to the Timberwolves, Dunn compensated with the best performance of his career. The seven steals mark a new career high for the former lottery pick, whose defense has made him a fixture in Tyronn Lue’s rotation since he joined the Clippers in 2024-25. Dunn also shot well on Sunday, but his defensive potential makes him an intriguing option for managers in 12-team leagues seeking steals.

    Player Stats

Kobe Sanders amassed 16 points (6-of-9 FGs), three rebounds, one steal and four three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Warriors.

Sanders had his most productive game of the season so far, setting new highs in points and three-pointers. He’s now played at least 20 minutes in four straight games, logging 30 against the Warriors. Sunday’s performance isn’t enough to get him on the radar in most fantasy leagues, but it may ensure Sanders a place in head coach Tyronn Lue’s rotation while the Clippers await the returns of Brandon Ingram and Max Strus.
